History of OBSA
Founded in the early 1990s, the Ontario Billiards & Snooker Association (OBSA) has been a driving force in the growth of cue sports across Ontario. Starting as a small community of passionate players, OBSA has evolved into a structured organization supporting tournaments, rankings, and player development.
Over time, OBSA has built a strong network of players and events, creating opportunities for competition and growth at all levels. The association continues to bring together the cue sports community through consistent, professionally organized activities.
Today, OBSA focuses on promoting snooker and billiards through tournaments, player development, and community engagement, while working to expand the sport and support the next generation of players.

We host sanctioned tournaments, maintain official player rankings, and work closely with local clubs to provide consistent competitive opportunities. What is Snooker
Snooker is a cue sport played on a 12-foot table with 21 balls—15 red balls, 6 coloured balls, and a white cue ball. Players score points by potting balls in a specific sequence, combining precision, strategy, and tactical safety play.
Originating in the United Kingdom, snooker has grown into a global sport enjoyed by millions, with prestigious professional tournaments such as the World Snooker Championship inspiring players of all ages and skill levels.
Whether played recreationally or competitively, snooker develops concentration, sportsmanship, and strategic thinking.
What is Heyball
Heyball, also known as Chinese Eight-Ball, is a fast-growing cue sport that combines elements of traditional pool and snooker. Played on a specially designed table with pool-style balls, the game emphasizes precise cueing, tactical positioning, and consistent shot-making.
Originally developed in China, Heyball has become one of the world’s fastest-growing cue sports, attracting professional players and amateur enthusiasts from around the globe.
Its balanced mix of skill, strategy, and accessibility makes Heyball an exciting game for both beginners and experienced cue sports players.
